Whether you're an experienced Pokémon TCG player looking to try out a different style or picking up a deck for the first time and can't wait to harness powerful GX attacks - here's why you need to grab the 9 assorted GX decks from Pokémon! Maybe Mewtwo is your favourite or perhaps you're loyalty lies with team Charizard? It doesn't matter if you prefer to cause a storm with an electric-type or make a splash with a water-type, the 9 assorted GX decks will have you covered!

The set of 9 assorted GX decks are released on July 13th and are available to order from Plaza Japan now. 9 different 60-card decks each feature their own type-based theme and of course, they each come with a signature powerful GX Pokémon! These decks are in Japanese, but they're not just here to look good - they contain some of the best Pokémon and Trainer cards around! Expect to see the likes of Lille, Diantha, Kiawe, Rare Candy and Ultra Ball across different decks as you take on your opponent!

Which deck will tempt you? It's never an easy decision with such a variety of choice. We think it'll come down to the GX attack that suits your style best! So what type of Pokémon can we expect to find, and what does its GX attack do exactly? Look no further than Plaza Japan.

The Grass-theme deck and Lurantis GX! The might of the forest is yours to control with Alola's very own Lurantis! This deck is packed full of grass Pokémon with Torterra, Pinsir and Ula'Ula's Island Guardian, Tapu Bulu, all in support! Items such as Nest Ball will help get Lurantis GX on the battlefield quickly, meaning that you can launch its GX attack sooner - "Chlorosythe GX". This GX attack doesn't mess around as it deals 50 damage times the amount of Grass Energy attached to Lurantis! That could mean some serious damage dealt!

The Fire-theme deck and Charizard GX! The heat is well and truly on with one of the peoples’ favourites. The Charizard GX deck burns brightly, adding the likes of Arcanine, Heatran and Turtonator to a strong combination of Trainers - including Kiawe! The Supporter Kiawe allows you to attach 4 Fire Energy cards to one of your Pokémon and Charizard's GX attack, "Raging Out GX", forces your opponent to discard the top 10 cards from their deck! Now that's what we call fire power!

The Water-theme deck and Lapras GX! Another Kanto favourite is the sea-surfing Lapras! Wash your opposition away with more water Pokémon including Feraligatr, Wailord and even the legendary Palkia! The deck is also complemented with some important Items for your water-types, such as Aqua Patch, allowing you to attach a discarded Water Energy to one of your Pokémon. This could be essential to unleashing Lapras's GX attack, "Ice Beam GX", which deals 100 damage to your opponent and also causes paralysis! Ice cool.

The Lightning-theme deck and Raichu GX! You didn't think Pikachu would miss out, did you? It would have certainly of been a bit of a 'shock' to leave out the Pokémon mascot, and for some people, choosing Pikachu and Raichu might be an easy decision! However, don't let this lightning deck's cute exterior fool you as beneath the surface there are some truly electrifying Pokémon in the shape of Electabuzz, Luxray and the legendary Raikou! This deck comes full charged with Trainer cards designed to help your lightning types, including the Supporter Volkner. Get Pikachu evolved into Raichu GX and unleash it's thunderous GX attack, "Voltail GX", dealing a massive 120 damage to your opponent and causing paralysis! Sparks will fly.

The Psychic-theme deck and Mewtwo GX! Mewtwo once famously said "I see now that the circumstances of one’s deck are irrelevant. It what you do with the gift of GX attacks that determines if you win.", or something like that, and we couldn't agree more! A clone from Mew but a deck all in its own right, the legendary psychic-type Mewtwo brings with it Mimikyu, Gothitelle and Latios all ready to go head to head! That GX attack that Mewtwo was talking about is his very own "Psystrike GX". Unleashing this GX attack will deal a huge 200 damage to your opponent’s Pokémon and bypass any effects at the same time. There's no stopping it!

The Fighting-theme deck and Lycanroc GX ! Will you choose Lycanroc's midnight form to do battle with? Lycanroc often hunt in packs, and that explains why Beware, Hawlucha and Zygarde are all here ready to fight in this deck! As always, a great mix of powerful Trainer cards are included, but this time there's also the inclusion of a Stadium card, Brooklet Hill, that allows you to search your deck each turn for a basic fighting Pokémon and add it to your bench. Use Brooklet Hill to get Rockruff on the bench and quickly evolve it into Lycanroc - then prepare its GX attack - "Dangerous Rough GX"! Your opponent will be hit for 50 damage times the amount of Pokémon on your opponent’s bench. Your opposition will be thinking twice before strengthening their ranks!

The Darkness-theme deck and Yveltal GX! Do you prefer to work under the cover of darkness? Darkrai, Spiritomb and Alolan Persian all join Yveltal in blocking out the sun preparing for a dark-type onslaught! The Stadium card included with this deck, Devoured Field, will ensure that your dark-type Pokémon are dealing 10 extra damage per attack, but this won't be needed when it's time to flip the switch on Yveltal's unstoppable GX attack. "Doom Count GX" will automatically knock out your opposition if it has exactly 4 damage counters. No one will be considered safe!

The Metal-theme deck and Metagross GX ! Perhaps your choice is the same as that of Champion Steven? Metagross certainly adds a huge amount of steel to any deck, and you may even expect it to get the job done without the help of Skarmory, Probopass and Alolan Dugtrio . The power of Metagross is no surprise as it is indeed a Stage 2 Pokémon, meaning that you'll need to evolve Beldum and then Metang to get it onto the field of play - but fortunately the deck is suited to this style of play. The deck includes the Item Rare Candy, and that means that Beldum can evolve into Metagross right away! This'll be important for calling upon Metagross's GX attack "Algorithm GX", allowing you to search for any 5 cards from your deck and add them to your hand. What cards will you choose to tip the battle in your favour?

The Fairy-theme deck and Xerneas GX ! This fairy-type deck is here to 'Play Rough' with some of the fiercest Pokémon around. Along with Xerneas, you can expect to find Clefable, Diancie, Tapu Lele and even the Colorless-type Rayquaza! Type-specific Supporter cards such as Diantha are also included, allowing you to put two discarded cards into your hand if your fairy-type was knocked out in the last turn. All that leaves is Xerneas's incredible damage-shifting GX attack "Sanctuary GX", that puts the damage counters from each of your Pokémon onto your opponent’s active Pokémon. The transition of damage will surely transition the flow of battle to your side!

And there we have it! We hope that learning about the basics of each deck has helped make your decision a little easier, or maybe it's made it even harder! The best thing about the 9 assorted GX decks is that you have all the possibilities in your possession. Each deck also includes 25 damage counters, a pair of Special Condition markers and of course that all important GX marker.

Don't forget that these decks are in Japanese text, but they also look as good on display as they do in battle, so don't miss out and order from Plaza Japan today!
