GRIMOIRE 1/144 HG DE BANDAI : REVIEW GUNPLA

Posted by techartgeek.com on Feb 27, 2018

Here is the review of a model that I expected to assemble for a long time, the  GRIMOIRE 1/44 HG. Indeed his look and his "character design" are quite special.

Grimoire, my beautiful Grimoire!

This model comes from the GUNDAM series Reconguista In G. This animated broadcast from 2014 to 2015 (26 episodes) is the creation of Yoshiyuki Tomino who directs and writes this series. The characters are designed by one of the founders of Ghibli studio, host Kenichi Yoshida.

The design of this Grimoire is shown on the page below and we can already see the "insect" aspect of the mobile follows. (page from this site)

The assembly

I met for the first time on a Gunpla a major concern, indeed when mounting one of the feet his joint "polycaps" was wrongly positioned. And here for disassembly it was very complex! As much on the models previously presented I managed to dismount the entire model so much for this model once the part assembled boots do not count the disassemble! Notice to those who paint their Gunpla plan to do it before any editing!

Regarding the point of the stickers this model does not count much but the stickers kneepads and these rear reactors could really be replaced by real parts ...

In the end what does it make?

The massive look of this Girmoire is really super nice to photograph and the colors are very faithful to the model of the animated. The round abdominal part gives it a very good articulation. Small flat on the hands (one hand "open" it's a fair bit) and a very succinct weapon kit (the shield is really simplified and summarized in one piece)
