I am fortunate enough to have seen the real thing in my travels , this particular gun being preserved exactly where it was left on a Pacific Island . This raises the interesting point that the gun was used as a fixed weapon on land as defence against air and ground attack as well as a shipboard weapon . So you don't need a 1/35 ship to realistically mount your model (a 20 foot ship model would be nice but a bit intrusive in your home).I intend this to be in a jungle diorama which will complement the gun in an interesting model . The kit is well made , and like a lot of 1/35 guns is a bit fiddly so have patience and you will enjoy an unusual modelling experience .
