This is a plastic model and assembly is required.
Unveiling with etched parts in the standard "warship color" specification of the Imperial Japanese Navy, which was never actually painted!
- The product is inspired by the design from November 1944 and was completely re-designed in 2017 with new molds.
- The hull parts are pre-colored to mimic the Yokosuka Naval Arsenal color (warship color).
- The ship's bottom and hull parts are divided at the waterline, allowing for both waterline and full hull model construction.
- Although the design is based on the sister ships Yamato and Musashi, unique parts are used to differentiate the features rather than sharing parts.
- The onboard aircraft include planned models.
- The hull is split into left and right sections, with the bow bell mouth area faithfully reproduced based on thorough research.
- Some areas, like the canvas openings on the sides, are represented using a highly pliable seal material.
- Portholes along the ship's sides are intricately sculpted to depict variations between open and closed states.
- The ship bottom parts replicate a distinct bulge shape from the Yamato and are pre-colored in the hull color (red), eliminating the need for painting.
- Depending on part attachment choices, a waterline or full hull model can be completed.
- The rudder is available in two types: a round shape similar to the traditional Yamato design and another similar to the aircraft carrier Taiho design.
Flight Deck & Superstructure:
- The flight deck consists of two pieces: deck areas are divided into concrete laid sections and edges, achieving optimal painting representation.
- The concrete area is modeled in a light gray, lighter than the standard warship color.
- The bridge is formed using a slide mold, creating a single, integrally molded part with intricate engraving on all four sides for realistic detail.
- The smokestack shape and structure near the aft craft deck are modeled based on recent data and research.
Artillery & Armaments:
- Anti-aircraft gun mounts feature strip patterns, while the hangar walls show monkey ladders, achieving high-density detail with fine engravings.
- Convertible radio antenna masts are articulated, allowing you to recreate takeoff scenarios.
- Packaged aircraft types are "Shiden Kai," "Ryuusei," "Saiun," and "Ohka."
- The Shiden Kai is reproduced in two colors: a typical dark green and an experimental orange mimicking the Shiden Kai II.
- The Ryuusei, Saiun, and Shiden Kai have integrally molded leg parts, and separate parts offer even finer detailed leg structure.
Additional Features:
- Included seals differ from traditional products and are exclusively tailored for the concrete-laid flight deck.
- The provided seals cover aspects like the side canvas, bridge deck linoleum, and flight deck white lines, allowing color representation without painting.
- Decals offering flight deck white lines and national insignia for aircraft are also included for those preferring a painted finish.
- Bonus parts include adhesive "binoculars" and "ammunition boxes for machine guns" for refined finishing.
Etched Parts:
- Delicate ship fittings unable to be expressed with injection parts are represented with etched details.
- Etched parts include railings, ladders, lattice masts, Type 13 radar, wind fences, elevators, cranes, smokestack caps, and airplane propellers.
- No paint required: Each part is colored in a molding color, with some portions using seals for color representation.
- No glue required: Designed for simple snap-fit assembly.
- Made up of seven different colored molded parts.
- Completed model size: 381x83x134mm
