When Kansai International Airport opened in September 1994, the Nankai 50000 series limited express train "Rapi: t" was born for airport access from central Osaka.
It has appeared in a bold design such as a front shape that resembles a sphere with a three-dimensional curved surface reminiscent of an aircraft, an oval side window, and a deep blue body paint.
Six 6-car trains are enrolled and are active as limited express "Rapi: t α" and "Rapi: t β" between Namba and Kansai Airport.
From the summer of 2021, the "Sumikko Gurashi x Nankai Densha" campaign was held, and the characters and stories of "Sumikko Gurashi" were wrapped in the 50505 formation.
It operates until December of the same year.
