An unmanned spacecraft that is carrying out NASA's "Exoplanet and Extrasolar Exploration Program"
Launched in September 1977, and followed by No. 2 was launched in August of the same year, both probes succeeded in capturing clear images of the outer planets.
Equipped with an information record called "Golden Record" the item sent into space
Each Voyager space probe carries a gold-plated audio-visual disc, should the spacecraft ever be found by intelligent life forms from other planetary systems. The disc carries photos of the Earth and its lifeforms, a range of scientific information, spoken greetings from people and a medley including the Sounds of Earth.
This 1/48 kit is nearly 8cm in diameter and 40cm long
A precision re-creation including the fabled Golden Disk, pre-coloured black and white plastic and an english manual with easy to follow numbered and diagramed instructions
Included is a globe-shaped stand for exhibition and a Voyager information card.
This is a plastic model and assemble is required.
