The 209 Series 500s were first introduced on the Chuo and Sobu Local Line in 1998. With its expanded body compared to earlier 209 Series models, it was designed to enhance transportation capacity. In 2008, four sets were reallocated to the Keiyo Line, but with the introduction of the successor E233 Series 5000s in 2010, three sets were transferred to the Musashino Line. The remaining set underwent equipment updates and continues to operate actively on the Keiyo Line.
The longest-serving 209 Series 500s on the Keiyo Line, set number 34, is now available in N gauge. Enjoy it alongside various other trains like the E233 Series 5000 and those on the Uchibo and Sotobo Lines.
