The E26 series debuted in 1999 as the top-tier sleeper car of the "Hokutosei." It operated for many years as the luxurious sleeper train known as "Cassiopeia" but ceased regular services in March 2016 following the opening of the Hokkaido Shinkansen between Shin-Aomori and Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto. Afterward, it mainly operated as a tour train throughout Hokkaido and the Tohoku region, fitted with wireless equipment for the Shinkansen within the Seikan Tunnel. However, since February 2017, its Hokkaido operations have ended, and it now operates as a charter train called "Cassiopeia Cruise" within the JR East area.
The E26 series passenger car continues to shine as the "Cassiopeia Cruise." You can enjoy it in combination with various locomotives, including the simultaneously released <3066-F EF81 95 Rainbow Painted Locomotive>. Additionally, by installing the <11-222 LED Interior Light Clear for E26 Series Package of 6>, which is set for simultaneous reproduction, you can recreate more realistic and atmospheric nighttime running scenes.
