The EF81 locomotive made its debut in 1968 as a versatile locomotive capable of hauling both passenger and freight trains. The No. 95 unit underwent a paint change in 1987 to serve as the traction engine for the joyful train "Super Express Rainbow." It features a vivid cherry red color scheme and prominently displays the "EF81" logo on the sides of the body. Even after the retirement of the "Super Express Rainbow," the rainbow livery of this unit has been retained and is currently used as the traction engine for the private "Cassiopeia Cruise" train.
