Description

The 101 Series Early Models were introduced in 1969, coinciding with the opening of the Seibu Chichibu Line. These vehicles were designed for mountainous routes, featuring high power and advanced braking performance. A total of 278 cars were manufactured. Initially, they were non-air-conditioned four-car formations, but air-conditioning was later added, and some formations were expanded to six-car through-train formations. These trains were widely operated across various Seibu lines, excluding the Seibu Yurakucho Line and Yamaguchi Line, and were a central part of Seibu Railway operations, even running in formations of up to 10 cars. They were retired in 2010 and are currently preserved at the Yokoze Vehicle Base.
The 101 Series, which supported passenger transportation on the Seibu Chichibu Line for 55 years, is now available. The side windows' warm gray color has been eliminated, resulting in a single yellow color six-car formation. You can enjoy the scenes of the former Seibu Line alongside the simultaneously released items such as the <10-1359 Seibu Railway 5000 Series <Red Arrow>> and <10-431 Seibu E851 Cement Train>.
