WAFU 29500 is an enclosed brake van that was manufactured from 1955 to 1961, with a total of 650 units produced. Based on the performance of previous enclosed brake vans, it ensured a load capacity of 5 tons in the cargo area and a floor area of 15.05 square meters. The floor area of the conductor's cabin was 6.73 square meters. The design considered the working environment of the conductor by incorporating features such as a stove, a bench for resting, and a deck for easy boarding and alighting. These vans operated on a wide range of services, including short freight trains in local lines pulled by locomotives like the C56 and main line freight trains typically hauled by the D51.
