Kato 10-2029 Series E231 Joban Line/Ueno Tokyo Line 4 Cars Add-on Set (N scale)

The E231 series, which operates on the Joban Line, debuted in 2002 as a replacement for the 103 series. These trains consist of both 10-car and 5-car sets, forming the longest 15-car train sets within the E231 commuter train series. The train body features a distinctive blue-green stripe, in addition to an uguisu-colored stripe to prevent misboarding on local lines. Alongside the E531 series for middle-distance travel, the E231 series is active between Ueno and Toride on the rapid service of the Joban Line, and between Abiko and Narita on the Narita Line. Following the opening of the Ueno-Tokyo Line in 2015, its operational reach has expanded to include direct service to Shinagawa.
