The EF15 was a standard freight electric locomotive, and 202 cars were mass-produced between 1947 and 1958.
From Kuroiso on the Tohoku Line in the north to Shimonoseki on the Sanyo Main Line in the south, it was active in DC sections nationwide until around 1987.
