A nostalgic kit that's what you'd expect from Kotobukiya, with some fun surprises!
I recently bought and built this kit right out of box. I have to say for a kit that would be equivalent to that of a Bandai HG Gunpla, it has some charm and proess you wouldn't find in a Gunpla at all + The build is quick If you know your way around a pair of nippers and a hobby knife, then this model should only take you a couple hours with minimal effort. + The color separation is righteous! There is so much that could go wrong with color, even with a character as simple in design as Rokusho, but Kotobukiya did their damndest to be surer than sure that the colors were accurate. And they sure are! + The range of motion is great! For a smaller kit, the articulation is all where you want it to be. + Pre painted parts are a godsend, and the gimmicks are to die for Okay, so its obvious if you built any of the other Medabots (Medarots) line, you'd know about the pre painted parts. But one thing I just HAVE to nerd gush about is the cute spring gimmicks in his arms! He.has.SPRINGS that work the scissor blade on his right arm and the punching piston thingies on his left. Take THAT Bandai! Where's our Gunpla with these sorta gimmicks, huuuuuuuuuh? For some cons though, I'd have to say; - Polycap joints for days And they're not Bandai polyethylene joints either. Be ready for a lot of poly cap trouble. I'm not even kidding either, I wish I was. Every single joint is a friggin Polycap - Speaking of Polycaps... They're Kotobukiya Polycaps...They aren't the most quality Polycaps on the market. WHILE building this kit (not after), I somehow wore out a Polycap to thin and the leg couldn't stay on. Luckily Kotobukiya Polycap runners come with spare caps out the ass. - Not as many option parts as the Medabee kit. Medabee came with more hand option parts, the pre painted expression plates AND a couple pre molded effect parts for the missile launchers on his head. Rokusho? Yeah only 2 options for hands and his coin. That's it. So expect less of a packed box, and more of a packed with charm and gimmicky awesomeness instead. All in all, this kit for the price you pay is ultimately worth it! 4/5!
