About the Real Car:
Audi, which revolutionized the rally world with 4WD technology, next aimed to tackle circuit racing with their 4WD capabilities. Developed based on the 4-door sedan A4 Quattro, the car debuted in the Class 2 touring car race in 1995 and participated in the British BTCC in 1996. It featured a longitudinally mounted inline 4-cylinder 2-liter engine that delivered over 300 horsepower, transmitting power to all four wheels via a 6-speed sequential gearbox and the Quattro system. Despite a 100kg weight penalty compared to 2WD cars, the A4 secured the BTCC championship in 1996. Additionally, it won the 1999 German Super Touring Cup, demonstrating the effectiveness of 4WD on tarmac circuit courses.
