This is a 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit of the M247 Mule, a small vehicle developed by the United States after World War II and used primarily during the Vietnam War for transporting supplies.
The M247 Mule is a smaller, more maneuverable vehicle than a general truck, developed by the United States after World War II to meet the need for such a vehicle. It was officially adopted in 1957 and saw extensive use during the Vietnam War. Known as the Mule or Mechanical Mule, it was valued by soldiers for its reliability in transporting goods, much like its namesake, the mule.
The model includes modifications that transformed it into a self-propelled gun by mounting recoilless rifles in the field, highlighting its practicality.
The model accurately recreates the basic form of the M274 Mule as used in the Vietnam War, at a 1/35 scale. It features a full-flat platform with front and rear axles, the underside of the engine, and a drive shaft. The gas tank is also replicated, and the balloon-type tires are split left and right. The platform top includes a modeled seat and handle pedals at the front.
Additionally, the kit includes four figures depicting the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam for a more immersive effect. One figure is seated in the driver's seat, two figures are positioned on the cargo area as soldiers on board, and one figure is modeled standing alert.
The uniforms' details and natural wrinkle expressions contribute to a vivid and realistic finish. The kit can stand alone or be combined with various vehicles for recreating scenes from the Vietnam War.
