This plastic model assembly kit recreates the commemorative paint scheme of the F-15J Eagle that appeared at the Japan Air Self-Defense Force Komatsu Air Base Aviation Festival on September 23, 2024, in celebration of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force's 70th anniversary. The back of the aircraft is adorned with a large decal of a cherry blossom illustration.

About the Actual Aircraft  

The F-15J Eagle, a mainstay fighter, is based on the F-15C of the United States Air Force, which began operational deployment in 1974, and has been specially equipped by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force. It features unique systems such as the Tactical Electronic Warfare System (J/TEWS) and a data link system, with deployments starting in 1982. The F-15J continues to play a crucial role in Japan's air defense.

At aviation festivals held at bases operating the F-15J, commemorative paint schemes are often created, and demonstration flights are conducted. At the festival held at Komatsu Air Base on September 23, 2024, an F-15J from the 306th Squadron was specially painted in celebration of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force's 70th anniversary. This special aircraft dazzled with a purple base—symbolizing the 70th anniversary milestone—and a Japanese-inspired design featuring cherry blossoms, Japan's national flower, and the golden eagle, Ishikawa Prefecture's bird and the 306th Squadron's emblem.

This model is based on Platz's acclaimed 1/72 scale model of the "Japan Air Self-Defense Force F-15J Eagle" and replicates the 70th-anniversary commemorative aircraft that appeared at the Komatsu Air Base Aviation Festival on September 23, 2024. It models the F-15J of the 306th Squadron showcased at the festival. In celebration of the 70th anniversary, the aircraft's color scheme is purple, representing the milestone, and is adorned with cherry blossom markings, painstakingly reproduced with high-quality large decals from Cartograf.
