About the Real Aircraft

The F-15J Eagle is a mainstay aircraft based on the U.S. Air Force's F-15C, which began its operational deployment in 1974. The model features equipment unique to the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, including its own Tactical Electronic Warfare System (J/TEWS) and a unique data link system. Deployment to units began in 1982, and it continues to serve as a major player in Japan's air defense. Air festivals at bases operating the F-15J often produce commemorative paint scheme aircraft that are showcased in flight displays. At the air festival held on September 23, 2024, at Komatsu Air Base, the F-15J of the 303rd Squadron appeared with special paint to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force. This aircraft used the image colors of the Hokuriku Shinkansen and featured a "Fighting Dragon" illustration on its back, capturing much attention with its impressive appearance.
