About the Actual Car

The Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC is a World Rally Championship car developed by South Korean automobile manufacturer Hyundai. It is based on Hyundai’s second-generation, subcompact, 3-door i20 coupe. Introduced to the WRC in 2017, the car is developed by Hyundai Motorsport GmbH, located in Germany, which is responsible for Hyundai’s global motorsport activities, including WRC and customer racing. The vehicle is equipped with a 1.6-liter inline-four direct-injection turbo engine, producing 380 horsepower. It features a four-wheel-drive system combined with MacPherson strut suspension on both the front and rear. The team began competing in WRC in 2017 and has continually improved the vehicle, securing four victories in 2019, including at the Tour de Corse, ultimately earning Hyundai its first title as Constructors’ Champion.

About the Model

Released by Belgian model manufacturer Belkits, known for their dedicated development of rally car models, this 1/24 scale Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC plastic model kit is created with an entirely new mold. The finished model is approximately 170mm in length, capturing the impressive style of the WRC works machine in realistic detail. Although the kit is engine-less, it meticulously recreates mechanical details such as the chassis underside and suspension, and offers insight into the champion machine, especially the cockpit surrounded by the roll bar. The body comes with separate over-fender parts, capturing sharp, three-dimensional expressions. Soft plastic materials are also used to replicate the texture of parts. Additionally, the kit includes a set of etched parts for detailed enhancement, such as brake discs. This kit provides a comprehensive content experience. It replicates the markings of the machine driven by Thierry Neuville in the 2019 WRC Round 3, Tour de Corse, where he claimed victory. Supplementary instructions in Japanese ensure easy assembly.
