About the Real Aircraft:  

The P-51 Mustang is celebrated as one of the best fighter aircraft of World War II. It was not only used by the United States Army Air Forces but also adopted by many other nations, continuing to serve long after the war as a top-tier piston-engine fighter. Initially developed at Britain's request, the prototype first flew in October 1940. Despite its early promise, the introduction of the P-51D model, equipped with the Merlin engine instead of the Allison engine, solidified its top-notch reputation. Its aerodynamically sophisticated design delivered excellent speed, long-range capability, stable high-altitude performance, agility, and maneuverability, creating a well-balanced masterpiece of a fighter plane.
