Product Description

About the Real Aircraft:
The 306th Tactical Fighter Squadron, known as the Golden Eagles, was established in 1981. Initially, they used F-4EJ fighter jets at the Komatsu Air Base but upgraded to the F-15J in 1997. This squadron is recognized as Japan’s Top Gun unit, providing advanced tactical training. Their emblem, the Golden Eagle, is inspired by Ishikawa's prefectural bird, the Golden Eagle.

The F-15J Eagle is modeled after the U.S. Air Force's F-15C, which started service in 1974. It includes systems exclusive to Japan's Air Self-Defense Force, like the J/TEWS tactical electronic warfare system and a custom data link system. Since its introduction in 1982, the F-15J has been a key element in Japan's air defense. Aircraft with special commemorative paint schemes are often showcased at air festivals hosted by F-15J bases. On September 17, 2018, during the Komatsu Air Base Air Festival, the 303rd and 306th Squadrons each displayed an aircraft with unique commemorative paintings, attracting much attention.

About the Model:
This plastic model kit precisely replicates the commemorative paint scheme of the 306th Squadron's aircraft "12-8803" from the September 17, 2018, Komatsu Air Base Air Festival. The vertical tail fin displays characters from the kabuki play "Kanjincho," including Benkei, Yoshitsune, and Togashi Saemon, detailed through large decals. These decals are produced in Italy using high-quality Cartograf silk-screen printing, noted for minimal color bleed and vibrant hues. The model emphasizes the distinct illustrations on each side of the vertical tail to faithfully recreate the striking markings. The commemorative paint scheme was selected from an internal squadron competition.

The model is crafted in a 1/72 scale, capturing elaborate details such as the engine nozzles. This dynamic marking makes it a vital addition to any collection. This kit is indispensable for Self-Defense Forces enthusiasts. Additionally, a kit featuring the 303rd Squadron's commemorative painted aircraft from the same festival is also available, enhancing the collecting experience.
