The HC85 series is a hybrid vehicle that appeared in 2019 as a replacement vehicle for the limited express "Hida" and "Nanki" operated in the Kiha 85 series.
The same system adopts a hybrid system, which is a system that runs by driving a motor with the electric power generated by the engine and the electric power stored in the storage battery to reduce the environmental load.
The test driving vehicles that appeared in 2019 will undergo various driving tests before the introduction of mass-produced vehicles, and the test results will be reflected in the mass-produced vehicles that will appear in 2022.
After the introduction of mass-produced vehicles in 2022, the test-driving vehicles will be remodeled to mass-produced vehicle specifications and will be introduced in the limited express "Hida" and "Nanki".
