This is a rail bus vehicle from Japan National Railways, which debuted in 1954. It is a small two-axle diesel vehicle manufactured using many bus components for use on low-traffic lines. Initially, all vehicles were deployed in Hokkaido, but some were later transferred to areas like Shikoku and Chiba. Due to a small seating capacity, inability to be centrally controlled, and low durability, they retired after about a decade.
