Series H100 is a new type of diesel-electric car introduced in 2020, designed to replace the KIHA 40 series still operating in various regions of Hokkaido.

These two vehicles are primarily used for regular trains on the Muroran Line (Tomakomai - Higashi-Muroran - Muroran/Osawa Line) and are also run as temporary trains during peak periods.
