The E231 series is a commuter and suburban train developed by JR East and is active in each DC section of the Tokyo metropolitan area.
The E231 series of the Joban / Narita line started commercial operation in 2002 as a replacement for the 103 series.
From April 30, 2021, the Matsudo Vehicle Center 139 train has been changed to a color band that imaged the ska-colored 113 series that was once active on the Narita line to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the Narita line.
