The 313 series is a commuter train that began operation in 1999. Designed for flexibility, this train caters to specific needs such as formation length and seating arrangements for operation across JR Central's electrified lines.
The initial 0 series, primarily configured for four-car formations, features fixed box seats at the car ends and rotating cross seats between doors. The 300 series, an early group with two-car configurations, mirrors the 0 series in seating arrangement and primarily serves as additional cars. These are predominantly coupled with other 313 series trains in the Nagoya area and 315 series trains in the Shizuoka area. The 0 series is active on the Tokaido Line between Shizuoka and Maibara, while the 300 series operates between Atami and Maibara.
