Ichibata Electric Railway connects the Izumo City station in Shimane Prefecture to the Matsue Shinjiko Onsen station on the Kita Matsue Line, and from Kawato station to Izumo Taisha-mae station on the Taisha Line, covering a total operating distance of 42.2 km. The 5000 series trains of Ichibata Electric Railway are express-type vehicles that were introduced in 1998 with two formations, comprising four cars modified from the Keio Electric Railway 5000 series.
These trains were extensively altered in both exterior and interior design, aimed at tourist transportation to destinations along the line, such as the Izumo Taisha Shrine. Notably, formation 5009 underwent interior renovations using Shimane Prefecture's timber and was repainted with an orange color accented with a white stripe in 2014. Serving as the flagship trains of Ichibata Electric Railway for many years, including operations on premium trains like the Limited Express Super Liner, formation 5010, which maintained its original appearance, retired after its final run on January 13, 2025.
-The train can be motorized to an N scale train and is compatible with TM-06R Motorized Chassis, TT-04R Trailer Conversion Kit, and Tomix 0238 Pantograph.
