Ichibata Electric Railway operates two lines: the Kita-Matsue Line, which runs from Izumo City Station in Shimane Prefecture to Matsue Shinjiko Onsen Station, and the Taisha Line, connecting Kawato Station to Izumo Taisha-mae Station, covering a total operational distance of 42.2 km. The Ichibata Electric Railway 5000 Series, originally remodeled from the Keio Electric Railway 5000 Series, was introduced in 1998 as an express train with a total of two formations and four cars.
These trains were significantly modified both externally and internally from their original structure to serve tourist transportation to locations along the route, such as Izumo Taisha. In 2014, the 5009 formation underwent interior remodeling using timber from Shimane Prefecture, simultaneously changing the exterior design to orange with white stripes. The 5000 series, which served as Ichibata Railway's flagship train, was prominently utilized in operations like the express Super Liner. However, the 5010 formation, which retained its original appearance since its debut, was retired following its final run on January 13, 2025.
-The train can be motorized to an N scale train and is compatible with TM-06R Motorized Chassis, TT-04R Trailer Conversion Kit, and Tomix 0238 Pantograph.
