Description

Sangi Railway is a railway company in Mie Prefecture, operating two rail lines, the Sangi Line and the Hokusei Line, as well as a bus business. Among the railway lines, the Sangi Line, which has been operational since its inception, was established primarily for transporting limestone and cement mined at Mount Fujiwara in the northern part of the Suzuka Mountains. It began commercial operations in 1931 and, since 2006, has been the only private railway line in Japan to transport cement using freight cars.
Regarding passenger transport, there has been a consistent demand as an essential means of transport for residents along the line since its opening. Since the Kintetsu connecting line opened in 1970, convenience has significantly increased, attracting a broad range of users, including commuters, students, tourists, and excursionists.
The 851 Series, active on the Sangi Line, began operations in 1995 on the Sangi Line from Kintetsu Tomida Station to Nishi-Fujiwara Station, covering 26.6 km. As of 2025, one set of three-car configurations is active. The product recreates the appearance from 2013 onward, in which the KUHA1881 is incorporated in place of the KUHA1851.

- Train can be motorized to an N scale train and is compatible with TM-08R Motorized Chassis, TT-04R Trailer Conversion Kit, and Tomix 0230 Pantograph.
