- The Izu Kyuko Line is a 45.7 km route between Ito Station and Izukyu Shimoda Station, which opened on December 10, 1961.
- The Izu Kyuko 8000 series were acquired from Tokyu Corporation’s 8000 and 8500 series and introduced progressively from around 2004 to replace older models, with a total of 45 cars.
- Modifications were made to suit the intended usage upon introduction.
- The body features light blue tones reminiscent of the 100 series train active since the line's opening. The seating arrangement includes cross-seats on the sea side and bench seats on the mountain side, providing a panoramic view of the east coast of Izu.
Train can be motorized to an N scale train and is compatible with TM-08R Motorized Chassis, TT-03R Trailer Conversion Kit and Tomix 0238 Pantograph.
