- The Nankai Electric Railway operates from Namba in Osaka towards Wakayama and Koyasan, as well as Kansai International Airport.
- Founded in December 1885, it is the oldest private railway in Japan.
- The 6000 series was introduced from 1962 to 1969 to enhance transport capacity on the Nankai Koya Line, with a total of 72 train cars manufactured.
- This series marked the first use of all-stainless steel car bodies by Nankai Electric Railway.
- After undergoing modifications such as air-conditioning and truck replacements, as well as partial body updates, the trains continue to operate as of 2024, albeit in reduced numbers.
- In September 2023, six train cars including the 6001 series were restored to their unpainted "nostalgic stainless" look and put back into operation.
Train can be motorized to an N scale train and is compatible with TM-08R Motorized Chassis, TT-04R Trailer Conversion Kit and Tomix 0258 Pantograph.
