The YO8000 model is a conductor's car introduced in 1974, designed to replace the previously used conductor's and van brake cars. It features a design based on the conductor's cabin of the KOKI model 50000. Although the attachment of conductor's cars to freight trains was discontinued towards the end of the Japan National Railways era, a few are still used today for special large cargo trains.

- Features pre-printed ownership marking "Higashi Uta"
- Tail lights and interior lights are non-functional
- Includes reflector parts
- Can navigate through mini-curves (when connected to locomotives that are compatible with mini-curves)
- Equipped with black wheels
- Pre-printed car numbers "YO8402" and "YO8404"
