The C57 series is a passenger steam locomotive that succeeded the C55 series, designed for passenger transport and operated on main and branch lines throughout Japan. Among this series, locomotive number 135 pulled the last passenger train operated by steam, train number 225, on December 14, 1975, for the Japanese National Railways. It was later preserved at the Transport Museum and is now housed at the Railway Museum.
