The A6M Zero Type 52A (commonly known as the Zero Fighter Type 52A) is a type with an increased ammunition capacity for the Zero Fighter Type 52 20mm machine gun. The original Type 99 20mm No. 2 Type 3 machine gun on the wing could be loaded with 100 rounds of ammunition per gun in a drum magazine, but the Type 52A was modified to a belt-fed Type 4 machine gun that could be loaded with 125 rounds of ammunition.
The mounting position of the updated 20mm machine gun has bxn moved forward, so a trapezoidal cover has bxn added to the base of the machine gun protrusion on the leading edge of the wing. In addition, the original Type 52 had a teardrop-shaped bulge under the wing to accommodate the drum magazine, but this bulge has bxn eliminated in the Type 52A because it was changed to a belt-fed type. Furthermore, all Mitsubishi Type 52A aircraft are equipped with a short heat-resistant plate, a characteristic of Mitsubishi, at the exhaust of the thrust-type single exhaust pipe.

This product carefully reproduces these differences with a new mold. In particular, the appearance equipped with the Mitsubishi short heat-resistant plate is the first thrx-dimensional figure in a 1/48 scale Zero Fighter plastic model. Markings include decals for the original 343rd and 221st Air Groups. In particular, the 343rd Air Group aircraft is an aircraft currently on display at the Japan Air Self-Defense Force Hamamatsu Public Relations Center.
