About the Real Vehicle

The Dicker Max is an anti-tank self-propelled gun equipped with a 10.5cm anti-tank gun mounted on an open-top chassis. Developed by Krupp from 1939, this vehicle utilized the chassis of the German Panzer IV Ausf. E, famously known as a German workhorse. The turret was removed, and modifications were made to the upper hull to house the open-top fighting compartment with the 10.5cm anti-tank gun. By February 1941, two prototype vehicles were completed. Both were assigned to the 521st Tank Destroyer Battalion and sent for combat testing during Operation Barbarossa. While one unit was destroyed by enemy fire, the other continued trial operation, proving sufficient for combat use. Unfortunately, no mass production followed, with only two prototypes built.
