About the Vehicle  

The Sd.Kfz.251 was a half-track vehicle used by the German army during World War II. Developed from a 3-ton half-track, it functioned as an armored personnel carrier and was also used for towing various artillery. Among its many variants was the Sd.Kfz.251/9, a fire support type equipped with a 7.5cm KwK37 tank gun. This variant used the C version as well as the final D production variant, which started production in 1943 and focused on improved productivity through simplification of various parts. The basic type was powered by a Maybach HL-42 inline 6-cylinder engine, achieving a top speed of approximately 50 km/h. It was equipped with a 7.92mm machine gun at both the front and rear of its open-top troop compartment. Throughout the war, it served as a vital transport for soldiers alongside armored divisions.
